It's no secret that I have a soft spot for anyone named Nicholas. They are all great people.
The bells of St Nicholas Church from San Giovannis Castle in Kotor.
Continuing . . . .
I chose to leave Kotor via the windiest road possible.
At turn 25 there was a small roadside stall selling locally made produce.
and this is where I met another charming young man, called Nicholas!!
I asked Nicholas if he was named after Nichola Tesla, no, he was named after his grandfather. The tradition goes back 13 times, every second generation there is a Nicholas, on the other generations there is a Slavic. Great naming tradition and one he wants to maintain. I also asked him where he learnt English. He is from Serbia and his education was in Russian. He now speaks 9 languages, having learned them from visitors to his roadside stall.
