 Budda's happy face!!

Budda's happy face!!

Budda is the 80 y o father of my guest house host. When I arrived I asked if anyone had kayaks to rent. Not so, but she offered me a ride with her father when he goes fishing. Perfect, I'll do that. Budda, is a retired mechanical engineer from the oil industry. He has worked in many countries around Europe and the Middle East. He lives here in Recsice in summer with his daughter and spends the winters in Zagreb near his son and grand daughter. he has a lovely life by the water. Fishing, playing chess, card games and boules. He's an avid reader, and speaks many different languages. He was born here,  his Mum died when he was very young and was raised by his grandfather, as his Dad was killed in WW2.

We spent much of the day swimming and chatting on this little bay.

water was gorgeous     Budda fished as we went from bay to bay. He used small pieces of soggy bread for burly and threw out a small float with two hooks with more bread for bait. He would throw out 12 of these, then loop back and collect them. Sometimes they had a small fish, other times if we were too slow the seagulls had an easy meal.
