Ouezzane

In Morocco they pronounce Ouezzane as " where's Ann"

Well today I rode from the blue city of Chefchouen in the Rif Mountains to Ifrane in the Atlas Mountains, visiting a world heritage site on the way.

As we rode into Ouezzane there was some confusion about my whereabouts. I was running low on fuel and some of our group had turned back to look for me. I was the the service station they'd just left.

Fast forward three weeks and we a back in Ouezzane and the same thing nearly happened again. This time I rolled into the servo on empty!!

Today's Lunch was my first Moroccan Tajine

most meals are prepared in the tajine. Meat is browned in dish then a pyramid of veggies in built over it. Covered with the lid and cooked on coals or gas. The lid handle is a little dish that holds water. When the water has evaporated the dish is ready to serve. the food wasn't as flavoursome as we expected. We think as we stayed mostly in hotels requested by westerners the food was made to suit a western palate. The makers however displayed beautiful arrays of spices. Often presented in the shape of a tajine
