Moroccan Mosques

bear with me. This is a work in progress. Xx

Mosques, like churches across Western Europe are generally the tallest building in the village.

In Brunei no building is to be taller than the Sultans Mosque.

In Morocco the bell tower of the mosques is generally two to three times the height of the surrounding buildings. They are mostly square and from a distance it looks like there are bells in the bell tower. Not so, they are speakers for the call to prayer broadcasts that happen five times daily.

Some moaques have a flag pole, this is used to raise a flag for hearing impaired Muslims so they know when to pray.
