Klaus Oetjen, a garden Master from Davos in Switzerland, was a visitor to Cradle in January 2017. I was lucky enough to meet him and made suggestions for where on our alpine plateau that he might find certain plants. He came back two days later with lots of photos and was pleased with my suggestions. The following week we met at the Botanical Gardens in Hobart. I had checked the website of his garden in Davos and discovered they have a volunteer program. So I'm now apart of it!! For three weeks in July I'll be living and working at Schatzalp surrounded by 5 hectares of beautiful flowering alpine garden-Alpinum. I will be working in the garden and it will be a wonderful learning experience for me. And I won't have to worry about looking for a hotel or guest house each night.
